They were born after he’d stopped using money, and now one is 10, and the other is almost 14. While he says their mother knew before they became involved that he didn’t use money—and was warned that he wouldn’t start using it, even if she got pregnant—it became a problem. “It drove her mad,” he says, “like no matter how much we tried to make it work, not using money was not going to allow it to happen.” It made him unreliable as a father because he couldn’t promise his children consistency. How would he know if he’d be able to get to them at any given time for pre-planned visits? And where would those visits take place?
✏️ I read this entire article and it was fine. I mean, kudos to the guy for sticking to his ideal. But then I saw this bit about not supporting his kids and choosing the ideal over them. That immediately turned me off from him and his entire thing.
