Not sure what I’m supposed to put here, especially if I’m trying to maintain a modicum of anonymity.
Basics
- He/Him
- Saudi… born, raised and living
- Married, two beautiful boys
- 40s.. sigh, late 40s
- Working in government after a lifetime in corporate, can’t say I would recommend either, but when you live in a capitalist world, you get screwed.
Biases
These will hopefully materialize in my epistemic disclosures whenever I write something, but might as well collate them somewhere.
- Subjectivity
- Humans can only ever be subjective. I don’t ascribe to the idea that a person could operate objectively, or only take in objective facts and give out objective output. Feelings and perspectives and biases and so on get in there, no matter how hard we might try to deny it, ignore it or fight it.
- I’m not denying the existing of the sciences of course.. 1+1=2 yada yada, Earth is round, and so on. There can be facts and objective things out around us. I just mean that, once you add a human being to the equation, objectivity invariably has to go out the window.
- Not a judgement call, not a good or bad thing.. just something I believe would allow us to let go of the pretense of trying to be robots when we’re not. It feels like a major burden that we put on ourselves, all the while denying our actual nature.
- Anti-capitalism
- Anti-racism
- Anti-violence
- Anarchist
- Spiritual compass: Love
- Multiple things (even conflicting one) can be true at the same time
- Storytelling is humanity’s greatest ability
- Underdog/Under-boot 4eva
- Whenever power dynamics are at play, I will give the sub the benefit of the doubt first.
