One thing and one thing only has the ability to force employers to share their wealth, and that is when workers have built the power to be able to create a crisis so great that an employer cannot continue what they’re doing, and have no choice but to surrender power and money.
✏️ This sounds a lot like what I just read in the “Air” article about the movie and what the mother character said. How the capitalists will do the “right” thing in sharing a sliver of the wealth and take a hit on profit, not out of charity, but out of greed. Here, as it was there, the motivating factor is that the capitalists want their money, and anything that stops that from happening is a crisis. #xref 🔗 View Highlight
